La Blogotheque

Video: Bloc Party, ‘This Modern Love’ – A Take Away Show from La Blogotheque.

I first came across La Blogotheque a year or so ago, when I found Beirut’s performance of Nantes on youtube. It’s still my favorite Blogotheque video, so I highly recommend it. But the collection of Take Away Show videos are full of priceless moments with Jason Mraz, Vampire Weekend, Jose Gonzalez, John Vanderslice, Bon Iver, Noah and the Whale, and Arcade Fire, along with a host of other alternative/indie artists. They are all live performances, usually done off the cuff somewhere in France. Beirut plays on trash cans in Paris, Arcade Fire is all crammed into an elevator, and Bon Iver is in a kitchen. It’s wonderful stuff.

Anyway, the point of this post was to point out their success in finally tracking down Bloc Party and getting the lead singer, Kele, to do “A Modern Love” acoustic. And it sounds brilliant. Really, it does. Don’t take my word for it, watch the video!
